Working with clips

Guide for an installed ASTER APPS desktop instance

ASTER APPS is currently a locally run Windows application. This site provides product information, support and legal documents; it is not a hosted editing or publishing service.

1. Review results in CLIP SCOUT

CLIP SCOUT searches available Twitch clips and can calculate a Quality score for review. The operator may also mark a clip as a preferred pick. Automatic selection is a convenience feature, not verification of content rights or platform eligibility.

2. Open the VIDEO module

In the ASTER APPS menu, choose VIDEO to review selected clips. Quality scores of 40 or higher qualify, and clips manually marked as “ГОДНЫЙ” (approved pick) can appear regardless of Quality. Duplicates are filtered, and clips removed from the VIDEO list are excluded from automatic reappearance.

3. Prepare the video

The VIDEO module can use locally configured yt-dlp and FFmpeg to prepare a portrait video. Current output is a 720 × 1280 H.264/AAC MP4 with the source image visible over a blurred background. Before publishing, review the result for accuracy and permission to reuse any included content or music.

4. Edit the caption

Every clip has an editable description. The suggested description can include the broadcaster's name and Twitch channel. Attribution is helpful but does not substitute for permission or licensing.

5. Connect a publishing account

Open VIDEO → Settings → Connected accounts. Depending on the provider, you will authorize access through an official sign-in flow or configure a supported platform token. The application stores account credentials locally in an encrypted file. Do not enter credentials into this public website.

6. Publish and inspect status

Choose a permitted destination and use the Publish button. The app tracks individual statuses such as submitted, processing, published or failed. A successful submission means that an upload was accepted; the provider may still review or restrict visibility. Always verify the post on the destination platform.

7. Optional scheduling

Auto-publishing is disabled initially. The operator may enable it, configure a daily limit and select scheduled times or intervals. Scheduled jobs run while the local application is active; closing it stops background execution on that computer.

8. Removing data and disconnecting

Use the VIDEO module to remove clips from its list. Disconnect accounts through the account settings and revoke the app in your social platform's security settings when access is no longer needed. To erase all locally retained data, associated backups and client configuration must be reviewed separately. For assistance or privacy inquiries, contact us.

Limitations and permissions

Content Posting API capabilities vary by service and app approval. In particular, public TikTok Direct Post access may require audit and may not be granted for some redistribution workflows. Only distribute content when you have the applicable rights.
